bird series

When Grant and I first arrived to British Columbia two years ago, I started my bird collage series using the cardboard boxes from our move. Since then, I have created 17 portraits and have big plans to create a life size series of larger birds. The Northern Flicker is the first of the bird collage series featuring birds native to the west coast of British Columbia. Each bird was created using recycled cardboard, pressed leaves from my yard, pencil crayons and acrylic paint.

The name, my favourite app, was the brain child of my wonderfully witty and imaginative husband Grant {www.grantmoshonas.com}, who jokingly made reference to my love of apples and my stubborn attitude towards new technology. However I have embraced the means of journaling by blogging... so this blog is dedicated to discovering new ideas and recording bursts of creativity.
